• GraceNet Alert – 3 New Options Coming Soon

• In our continuing effort to bring our GraceNet family the very finest in web hosting, we are preparing to roll out three new and extremely powerful tools.

Over the next several weeks we will be announcing these new services:
1.)  Remote, multi-storage web site backups.  This GraceNet original service is designed to backup your entire web site including files, email accounts, images, databases…. EVERYTHING!  The backups will be stored in a fully restorable format and sent daily to remote and heavily redundant storage….. More to come.
2.)  WordPress backup and site version management.  This vital service will assure your WordPress data is safe and current with all valid security in place.  Core software and plugin versions need to be kept current but can be a tedious job. Not anymore!…. More to come.
3.)  Site Accelerator and Firewall.  We have revamped our already excellent Content Delivery Network to make it even better.  Deliver your web site files, images and media faster and with greater reliability than ever before. Automatically protect your site from a huge array of assaults so as to provide the best web experience possible to your viewers… More to come.
Look for much more on each of these 3 amazing options soon.  As they become available, we will update you with full information on how they can provide a critical service at a very reasonable cost.
All the best,
The GraceNet

• Microsoft Finally Kills FrontPage Extensions

If you use Microsoft FrontPage or Expression Web software, READ THIS!

Well, it has been about 6 years since Microsoft discontinued all support and updates for their FrontPage Server Extensions which enabled certain features for websites created in MS FrontPage.  MS has allowed server administrators and hosts to keep the Extensions active on servers so existing users could continue to manage their websites as usual.

However, as time has passed, server software has progressed but the old Extension software has not.  Microsoft has finally demanded that all instances of the Extensions be removed from all web servers. To assure this happens, they have required the major control panel suppliers to provide auto-removal in all new updates.

If you use Microsoft FrontPage or Microsoft Expression Web software and upload using the FrontPage Extensions, you will find that functionality going away if it has not already done so.

If you get an error saying the Server Extensions are not installed, you will need to switch to using FTP to upload your files.

Here is a recommended FTP program:

For Windows OR Macintosh:

••• This is NOT a GraceNet issue and applies to ALL web servers and ALL hosts everywhere.
