The GraceNet Is Here To Help! Check this out…

Intro:
What if every unwanted email had to prove itself before it ever reached your inbox? That’s exactly what BoxTrapper does—and it’s far more powerful than typical spam filters. Instead of just guessing what’s junk, it puts the burden on the sender to verify they’re real. The result? A cleaner inbox, fewer distractions, and more control than most people realize is possible. Keep reading to discover how this often-overlooked feature can quietly eliminate the majority of your spam—for good.

BoxTrapper Overview

BoxTrapper helps protect your inbox from spam using a challenge-response system.

When someone emails you:

  • BoxTrapper sends them a verification email
  • The sender must confirm they are real (usually by clicking a link or replying)
  • Only verified emails are delivered to your inbox

If the sender does not verify:

  • The email is blocked
  • It will eventually be deleted automatically

How to Enable BoxTrapper

  1. Click Manage next to the email account
  2. Click Enable

Note:
When enabled, any email address you send messages to will be automatically whitelisted (allowed).

BoxTrapper Settings (Configuration)

To adjust settings:

  1. Click Manage next to the account
  2. Open Configure Settings

Key Settings Explained

  • Forwarding Addresses
Add any emails that forward to this inbox (comma-separated)
  • Your Name
Enter your name (used in messages)
  • Log Retention
Choose how many days to keep logs and queued messages
  • Spam Score Threshold (SpamAssassin)
This controls how strict BoxTrapper is:

    • Lower number (e.g., 5) → More emails require verification
    • Higher number (e.g., 10) → More emails go straight through

    Default: -2.5

  • Auto Whitelisting
    Automatically trusts people you email
  • Whitelist by Association
Automatically trusts email addresses included in replies (To/CC)

Click Save when finished.

How SpamAssassin Works (Simple Explanation)

SpamAssassin scans emails and assigns a spam score:

  • Higher score = more likely spam
  • Lower or negative score = likely safe

BoxTrapper uses this score to decide:

  • Deliver immediately
  • Or require verification

Customizing Verification Messages

BoxTrapper sends automatic messages in different situations:

  • Verify Message → Sent to unknown senders
  • Verified Message → Sent after successful verification
  • Failed Verification → If sender doesn’t verify
  • Blacklist Message → Sent to blocked senders

You can edit these by clicking Edit.

Important:

Do NOT change this part in the subject line:

verify#%msgid%

It is required for BoxTrapper to work properly.

You can reset messages anytime with Reset to Default.
